Design Information

The designs we offer are categorized into sizes and types. Some designs will be found in multiple categories. Small designs are less than 5" square or around. Medium designs are between 5" and 6" square or around. Large designs are 6" or larger. Some designs are created with tools that allow easy sizing and are marked as sizable. These designs will not appear in a size category. Due to the amount of detail in some designs, they may be marked as medium-large sizable. These designs can not be used on smaller items.

The following are examples of carving vs. tooling. Our basic designs are carved and finished with a paste that fills and brings out the line work. Additional tooling gives a 3D effect and makes a design stand out from the leather. We did the following design on two mugs for our Shakespeare at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. You can see the edges of the design are beveled and the mouthes and eyes matted for emphasis.

The next examples are a before and after of detailed tooling. This design was done on mugs for one of the PA State Constables that works security at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. On the left is the basic carving, taken from a picture of the constable's badge. On the right is a more complete, tooled version. Please note that we will only reproduce badges and insignias for active or retired servicemen at their direct request due to possible copyright issues.
